Crooked

Because of bad footwear choices
When I was younger
My left big toe curves inward
A little bit too much

I know there’s surgery for that
And I’m not adverse to
Correcting what can be
I’ve straightened my teeth
And had laser surgery to fix my vision

But whenever I look down
At that deviant big toe
Ever so slightly unsightly
I can’t make the decision
To fix it too

It just reminds me of
My mother too much
