So I’m prying my heart from you
It somehow got stuck–
Yeah I know you didn’t ask

Why am I attracted
To someone like you
Even though I was not
What you wanted?
Maybe my heart is
Just too sticky

Maybe I’m just
Too hopeless
In that romantic
Sort of way–
As I reluctantly put my heart away
Saving it for a different rainy day
A familiar feeling takes sway
As I see another you
