One way

If I thought
I could go back
I would
But I can’t
Because I already
Lived that life
Before and
All I got from it
Were books filled
With words
Nobody understands
Anymore

There is only
Forward but
That is not the
Same as progress
There are
Days ahead but
That is not the
Same as being hopeful

I can count
The days behind me
But don’t know how many
Days await

My journey is only one way
