Pocket universe

I wouldn’t know
That whenever I pass you in the school hallway
You try to look my way
Maybe even wanting to say hello
Because I didn’t realize you were there

Whenever I walk by where you’re sitting
You may look up from whatever you’re doing
To see that I’m nearby
I wouldn’t know
Because I just want to get to the snack bar

When it’s lunch
I wouldn’t know
That you’re trying to get out of my way
When all of us are getting in line
Even though you want to linger
And maybe talk a little

Whenever you’re at home
And you check social media
I wouldn’t know
That your heart skips a little
As you read something I post
Even though you feel guilty
Looking at what I put up

Everyday I wouldn’t know
What a struggle it is
For you to move on
When all I can think of
Is just passing my classes
And what my family did today
