Star destroyer

What star
Gave its life
So that it shone so bright
To guide three men
To a manger
Where a child was born?

What planets died
That night
When a star
Shone so bright
As if smite by the Lord
To announce the arrival of His Son?

Contrast

How I’m able
To see
In the dark

Gravitational lensing

A prism to filter the light of my being
Is needed to cajole the soul
And tell others my story whole
That I am worth seeing
My event horizon
Constrains the path
Defines them
Should they choose to approach me
But once revealed
Will they look away
And any gains made up to that point
Be lost should what is found disappoint?
