Gesture

Someone placed
On my desk
Some spare change
Which didn’t
Make sense since
I hadn’t lent anybody money
Then I realized
Someone remembered
That day was my birthday
Gifted me cents
Equal to my age
And somehow
Knew since it was
Also Taco Tuesday–
I’d always forget
To have enough
To cover for sales tax
